Pre & Post natal classes

At Fisical we offer a range of classes and workshops for mums-to-be preparing for birth and for new mums to take time to practice yoga with little ones in tow.

Class Types

Mummy & Me yoga

Mummy & Me is a wonderful opportunity to nurture and strengthen yourself after birth and is suitable for mums with babies 6 weeks plus or when you feel your body is ready for a regular practice. 

 

This class focuses on you by reconnecting to your body and breathe, strengthening back, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles and releasing tension in shoulders and hips.  It’s a beneficial way to support your body as it rebalances while also bonding and engaging with your baby and connecting with other parents.

  • The class finishes with some time for relaxation and nursery rhymes.

  • Classes are suitable for Beginners.

  •  If in doubt please consult with your GP for advice on when to resume practising.

Prenatal yoga

Pregnancy yoga can begin from your second trimester and is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners and can continue right up to the birth of your baby.


 This class can relieve aches and pains, boost circulation, strengthen the body for birth and keep you fit; whilst being sensitive to you and your baby.  It’s useful preparation for the birthing experience, learning to control the breathe to facilitate greater control of the breathe during labour.  Yoga also offers the opportunity to bond with your baby and connect with other pregnant women.

Breathing for birth

Based in hypnobirthing & yoga breathing techniques these Friday-night, doula-led classes offer you Time & Space to tune in and bond with your baby. We begin with a grounding, the chance to consciously shed the week and centre you & your baby. Each class invites you to focus on a different form of Calm in the Birth Room, and brings you a new technique to adopt in pregnancy, birth & beyond. The block of classes is composed to equip you with confidence, calm, emotional control – and release you to enjoy your birth, however it plays out!

Workshops

An introduction to weaning

Monday 2nd March

3pm-4.30pm

Join Alexa from The London baby coach for an introduction to weaning, this workshop is a small class open to those at any stage of the journey, from those preparing to wean and those new to weaning.

 

During this workshop you will cover; 

 

- the best pieces of equipment to use and what's suitable for your babys age

- to discover your chosen method of weaning between baby led and adult led 

- first tastes

- stage 2 and 3 meals

- finger foods

- how to implement the different meals

- when to start cutting milk feeds and how 

With a summary handout to take home at the end of the session.

 

The workshop is informative yet fun, with interactive tasks. There is also ample opportunity for parents to ask questions, meet new friends with herbal teas available to enjoy during the workshop.
